Adolescence is a stage from childhood to adulthood. It is filled with excitement, moods, and a lot of memories, both good and bad. Parents also went through that stage, and it comes a time when their children have to go through adolescence. This stage needs patience and understanding that they were also there and confused.
Whether physical or emotional, or trying to know who they are, teenagers might become violent, rude, or sometimes disobedient to their parents.
Patience is a virtue; we are all different human beings and deal with issues arising differently. Parenthood requires patience and understanding. That is why some parents are abusive because their parents never understood or were patient with them during teenage years or one parent figure was absent from their childhood, which can contribute to poor parenting.
Teenage years are also known as rebellious years, And parents must try not to be controlling or too strict, but they must be understanding and not too smothering to the teenager.
This is the period that is going to determine their habits for the rest of their lives. Teach them on how to speak to people, how to behave in public places, teach the teenagers to be exposed through reading books.
Advise them on importance of health both mentally and physically. It might seem annoying to them through the teenage years but during their twenties they will slowly remember them. That is why it requires patience.
It also requires emotional intelligence as teenagers also don’t know how to control their emotions. This where as a parent you must be calm and try not to have a temper and try to be firm and gentle and explain to them you are doing all of it for love.

For parents who did not grow with love in their childhood some of them have the possibility of being a little bit neglecting to their childrens’ emotions and feelings.
Parents should also understand that change is never easy and neither is being an adolescence and they should know that it might change your child’s life forever.
